Next Level 262: Financing the Lifeblood of America with Jermane Cheathem

Jermaine’s journey from a gritty sales rep to a globe-trotting entrepreneur is a masterclass in building freedom with intention. In this episode, we dive into how he used his skills in sales—not just to make money—but to design a life where he can work remotely, travel often, and help others do the same.

From the moment he shared his travel log—recently touching down in Georgia (the country, not the state!) after stints in Dubai, India, Vietnam, and Japan—it was clear Jermaine isn’t just living differently, he’s working differently too. His success comes from understanding something many overlook: that sales is the foundation of entrepreneurship. “If you’re in sales and not building your own business, you’re only doing 80% of the work and getting a fraction of the reward,” he said. That hit home.

What set Jermaine apart wasn’t just his relentless hustle early on—selling candy, mowing lawns, hustling Cutco knives in college—but his strategic shift away from cold calling to forming partnerships. Once he realized he could work with medical device reps who already had buyers needing financing, everything changed. He became the go-to guy for funding, building a reputation within a niche and letting referrals do the heavy lifting.

Now, he teaches others how to launch their own commercial equipment finance businesses—starting as a side hustle and potentially scaling it full-time. Whether it’s medical devices, food trucks, or construction gear, nearly everything a business uses is financed. Jermaine’s model is simple, repeatable, and lean. “If you’re working more than four hours a day, you’re focused on the wrong product or the wrong people,” he shared, showing how he built his business to run with just an hour or two a day.

This isn’t just a business episode—it’s a life blueprint. Jermaine’s story is about recognizing leverage, acting on opportunity, and building systems that give you back your time. And most importantly, it’s proof that with the right approach, freedom isn’t a fantasy—it’s a business model.
